Treat More Patients with the Pronova-O2™ Automated Prone Therapy System
A key factor in the overall design of our product was to ensure availability of automated prone therapy to as many patients and hospitals as possible. Two key components of our product model are a patient weight limit of 400 pounds and the option to acquire a Pronova-O2 through rental or purchase.
Patient weight limit of 400 pounds
A recent article* noted that patients with obesity have higher ICU admission rates and longer stays in the ICU compared to those with a normal body mass index. The authors further noted that during a 7-month period of review, 43% of patients admitted to the hospital were obese.
Safe manual prone positioning of obese patients can be especially challenging for healthcare staff, often making this lifesaving treatment unavailable to this patient group. Our design team was tasked with ensuring that more obese patients would have the opportunity for automated prone positioning therapy. In addition to the weight limit of 400 pounds, the surface is 37 inches wide and the ergonomic design allows for greater visibility of the patient during prone therapy.
Rent or Purchase
Another key element in the planning of Pronova-O2 programs was to offer flexible options for facilities to access automated prone therapy. We understand that some hospitals would prefer a long-term rental of Pronova-O2 systems, and some would be interested in other delivery options. We can customize a rental program to fit each facility’s unique needs.
Still other facilities may decide to own their system for ongoing use at any time.
Since our mission is to provide safe and efficient automated prone positioning to all who need it in the contiguous United States, we have developed a variety of flexible rental and purchase plans to enable easy access to Pronova-O2.
