Healthcare Worker Shortage Tops CEO Concerns for 2022
Becker’s Hospital Review1 recently published a survey of hospital CEOs’ ranking of concerns in their facilities. The top-ranking concerns include staffing shortages of all types, financial issues, and patient safety. Many other articles echo similar sentiments. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, 524,000 healthcare workers have left their positions. Interestingly, while staff exits continue to rise in hospitals, positions in ambulatory care and physician offices are increasing.2
It is evident that many factors are involved in the healthcare shortage. One significant factor is worker burnout. The shortage of workers then contributes to further burnout because it forces hospitals to demand more and more of their staff that continues to work in acute care. Hospital leadership must find creative strategies to provide support to their staff that remains.
We at Turn Medical see a solution for nursing burnout, staffing difficulties, and patient safety in critical care: the Pronova-O2™ Automated Prone Therapy system. Hospital leadership can provide this device to help reduce staffing needs, increase clinician and patient safety, and dramatically reduce the manual labor required for clinicians to manually prone their patients.
The Pronova-O2 Automated Prone Therapy System provides a safe and efficient method for positioning critically ill patients. INQUIRE NOW to request a demo for your facility! For additional information on automated prone positioning, please visit turnmedical.com or call 1-855-275-8876.
